Miami Mayor Francis X partners with TIME, Mastercard, and Salesforce to launch a unique collection of 5,000 NFTs.

The Mayor of Miami, Francis X. Suarez announced his partnership with TIME, Mastercard, and Salesforce to launch a collection of 5,000 unique and innovative NFTs on July 28, 2022. He explained that this collection is designed to bring revenue to local businesses and non-profit organizations.

 

The innovative collection of 5,000 unique NFTs is said to be designed by 56 local artists, representing the city’s 56-square-mile area. These NFTs are designed to benefit its holders through Mastercard’s Priceless Miami program, from one-of-a-kind events at local Miami restaurants to curated, unforgettable private tours of Miami cultural institutions and other memorable activities, these events are the exclusive benefits and unique experiences in-store for Miami NFT holders.
 

Mayor Francies explained his feelings following the exciting event saying; "I am thrilled to be partnering with TIME, Mastercard, and Salesforce on this initiative. The City of Miami has been on the vanguard of the web3 revolution and we will continue to employ these new technologies to support our existing businesses while attracting new ones, raising capital, and providing experiences for our citizens and those visiting this great City. At the same time, we can also use this novel approach to support local artists and charities." 

 

Notably, Miami has previously had its legs dipped into the ocean of project building around the crypto space with its previous launch of Miamicoin (MIA) which at the time, part of the government's holdings are being staked to earn yields in bitcoin. Yields from its staking pool are also reported to be paid to residents of Miami, making the city the first to integrate such a program for its residents. 

 

That said, TIME, a reputable brand that has been in the space for nearly 100 years and has emerged as a leader in web 3 over the past year, will be the one responsible for the strategy and development of the creatives for the launch of this initiative.

 

Keith A. Grossman, President of TIME, believes that the initiative will provide a unique opportunity for the City of Miami to build deeper connections with residents and visitors alike. 

 

The president added that as the company, TIME, has evolved into the web 3 space over the past year and a half, they have uncovered new ways to engage consumers and create exciting new revenue streams for the industry. Also, expressed that the brand is thrilled to leverage its learnings and expertise to build this program for the great City of Miami, which has already established itself as a leader in web3 innovation, and made its first move in a new venture for TIME to bring other brands and organizations successfully and authentically into web3.

 

Amazing to note that regardless of recent market swings that have sent a number of projects under the seas, creating a storm and imbalance in the ecosystem, many projects, space participants, and contributors are not moved far off their faith in the industry, thus, developments are still on a high scale, rapidly taking the ecosystem to a new phase of operation.
